Aerides - Loureiro
An Indo-Malesian genus of about 20 predominantly epiphytic, very rarely lithophytic species with long, stout, stems, loriform leaves and a simple or branched, erect or pendulous raceme of large showy flowers. Eight species are known from India. Three species are known from Kerala.

This is an exceedingly beautiful species with large and showy, white suffused pink flowers that last long period.
Occurrence: Palghat, Kannur, Wayanad Districts.
Distribution: Regional Endemic (Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu).

A highly variable species with white to pink flowers on a simple to much branched inflorescence.
Occurrence: Trivandrum, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Trichur, Palghat and Kannur Districts.
Distribution: Southern India (Kerala, Tamil Nadu) to Sri Lanka.
